Is Shine a Social Enterprise?

Yes! We are incorporated as a Community Interest Company.

Are you a community centre?

No, we run as a commercial business and re-invest our profits into Social Impact initiatives for women entrepreneurs (SheCanShine), local children, and the arts.

If you are community oriented, why do you charge community groups?

We charge competitive commercial rates for our space. Our community aspirations are realised through ad hoc/ongoing support to people, monetary investment in, and connectivity for community groups.

Do you receive grants?

We do not receive regular grants, but our outdoor artwork was funded by an Arts Council grant and some initiatives we headline have an element of grant funding. The do not make up any part of our income.

Can I use Shine as a business address without having an office?

If you purchase our virtual office service for £20+ VAT you will be able to use Shine as your business address. However, for insurance and legal reasons, we cannot allow non customers to use Shine as a business address.

Do you charge for WiFi?

No – it’s complimentary throughout the building.

Are you open on weekends?

We open on weekends for booked events. We may consider opening on Saturdays in the future as part of our regular service.

Can I use the SHINE STORE if I don’t have an office or a meeting booked?

Yes! But, if you aren’t a visitor of a tenant you will need to buy a £5 day pass to our space where you are welcome to work in available public areas throughout the building, including the Shine Store area.
